Offworld Trading Company: Jupiter's Forge PC

Jupiter's Forge is the first expansion to Offworld Trading Company, a space RTS released in 2016. The main goal of the game is to face other companies and dominate them by using the main weapon – money. This time the developers take us deep into the Solar System to one of Jupiter's moons – Io, where we must face opposing companies and lead our own business to victory again.

Mechanics

Jupiter's Forge offers many new elements but the core of the gameplay remains unchanged: money is still the main weapon against our rivals. There are no military units; in order to win we must build our economic power. We can play on a new world, the previously mentioned volcanic moon called Io. Here, there are no key resources necessary for living, e.g. water but there are also resources that can't be found on Mars, such as basalt.

The expansion offers new technologies and patents that can help our company to survive in Io's harsh environment. There are also two new factions that join the fight over the moon. Penrose Collective is the first one – this corporation starts with two bases, which allow them to get resources easier, as well as help them to a better placement of their bases on the moon's surface. The special ability of this faction is to exchange the owned land for something more useful for their development. The second faction is The Diadem Trust – all advanced buildings of this faction are slightly better than those that belong to opponents. Some of them can perform two operations at the same time and others generate two times more income than their enemy counterparts. In addition to that, this corporation can buy any patent at any moment of the game without participating an auction, which is required for other players.

Game modes

Besides new factions, locations, maps and resource system the developers prepared a completely new campaign and "1000 Map Challenge" mode in which all our skills, gained during the campaign, are put to test.
