Numantia is a turn-based strategy game focused on recreating the historical atmosphere of the Numantian war – a conflict that was fought between the ancient Spaniards and the Roman Empire during the 2nd century BC. During the battles the player must strategically operate various units of Iberian or Roman troops and between the battles he or she must maintain logistics and resources of the army.

Numantia is a turn-based strategy game developed by a small Spain studio Recotechnology. The game debuted during the 2150th anniversary of the siege of the titular city.

Plot

The game takes its name from Numantia – an ancient city that was once founded by Arevaci in the territory of the modern Spain. Later the settlement became an important defense point for Celtiberians, who defended themselves from the Roman Empire in the 2nd century BC. The game enables the player to control Numantians or a Roman legion during the battles for control the northern areas of Iberian Peninsula. The title recreates the historical records of the long conflict and its battles. During the missions the player can fight side-by-side with historic commanders like the barbaric Viriathus and Scipio Aemilianus.
