A very unusual shooting, in which we take control of the microorganism, dealing with the control of the virus spreading on the body.

Nucleus is a very unusual and at the same time quite classic shooter, in which the player's task is only to eliminate hostile objects appearing on the screen. An element distinguishing this product from competing arcade games is the presented theme. In this game we take control over an organic microorganism functioning in the human body. The whole thing is played on a cellular level, and the action is observed from a shot simulating looking through a microscope. The player's task is to eliminate an extremely dangerous virus known as The Scourge (plague), which spreads dynamically throughout the body. Sony is responsible for the preparation of this game. It is also worth noting that Nucleus is one of the products sold as part of the PlayStation Network network service.

The campaign prepared by game producers consists of about forty different levels, during which we visit three different systems of the human body - cardiovascular, nervous and digestive. As has already been said, the main focus of the game is on eliminating the threat of the virus and other bacteria. It is also important to accumulate proteins in order to benefit from stronger types of attacks. These may include protein bombs, which are necessary to dispose of the bosses encountered from time to time, i.e. the sources of the virus spreading over the body. This is extremely important, as it is precisely these stronger enemies that are completely immune to standard attacks. The player can also transform the cells they meet while playing so that they can be used as a barrier. There is also a possibility of lifting various power-ups, which usually unblock new types of attacks.
