Nub's Adventure is a two-dimensional adventure platform game, created in the pixel art style. The title was developed by IMakeGames studio consisting of one person called Maximilian Csuk.
Plot
We play the role of an inconspicuous, pixeled person who lives carefree in a small hut on a hill. One day, two red creatures appear in the hero's house, robbing him and setting the hut on fire. Our protagonist decides to rebuild the house with the help of a fairy who promises to support him in exchange for an appropriate amount of diamonds. The hero starts a dangerous journey in search of them.
Mechanics
The gameplay boils down to exploring the world, in which we have to solve numerous puzzles and defeat the aforementioned red creatures. The sizable map is divided into smaller segments which we can navigate using the handy map. Our character can walk, jump, swim and even fly, collecting the jewels and keys necessary to open blocked passages. Fortunately, we are not completely defenseless - the hero has a very useful boomerang. We can also meet a lot of independent characters, who will offer us help in return for completing a task.
Technical aspects
Nub's Adventure was made in a very old-school pixeled graphics style reminding modern players that the graphics are not the most important element of a good game. The game also has an extremely simple and intuitive control model, consisting of four buttons responsible for moving left and right, attack and interaction.
