The thirteenth non-standalone expansion for the strategy game Northgard. Garm, Clan of the Hounds introduces the titular group of fighters. They have unique abilities which allow them to become berserkers and to transform into various animal forms.

Northgard: Garm, Clan of the Hounds is an expansion to the 2018 strategy game set in the fantastic world of Norse mythology, titled Northgard. Like in the previous expansions, the creators added a new faction. The titular Clan of the Hounds expands the experience by offering a group of warriors with new abilities and fresh mechanics. The expansion was developed by the authors of the original game, namely Shiro Games studio.

Gameplay

The faction from this expansion is not led by any leader, unlike the other ones. The members of the clan are troublemakers who, while hunting wild animals, learned to harness their power. This allows them to transform into their animal form, making them berserkers.

The Clan of the Hounds is smaller, but this emphasizes the importance of each member. To recruit one troublemaker, it is required to assign two warriors to the Arena. The group relies solely on its units, and the only way to develop is through combat.

The berserkers, as followers of the guardian of the gates of the underworld - Garm, are able to collect the souls of the fallen during combat. This allows them to strengthen and further transform for yet another battle. Additionally, each warrior gains unique abilities and upgrades during skirmishes thanks to the experience gained, which leads to greater coordination between them.

The ability to transform into wild animals allows fighters to hide from enemies and have an advantage over them. Other warriors can be attacked by surprise.
