No one lives under the lighthouse is a short horror in which we discover the secrets of a lighthouse on an island off the coast of the United States. The game was made in the retro formula - its setting is reminiscent of a games from the turn of the 20th and 21st century and the same is with the gameplay, although the developers allowed for a few experiments. The indie studio Sowoke Entertainment Bureau is responsible for the development and release of this game.
Plot
No one lives under the lighthouse action takes place on a small island off the coast of the United States. The player takes on the role of the man who is trying to solve the mystery of the lighthouse - and what is underneath it.
Mechanics
No one lives under the lighthouse is quite a typical first person perspective horror. The gameplay is mainly about exploring the location (we move around the island, as well as the lighthouse itself), acquiring objects and solving puzzles. The main goal of the game is to discover the plot thread prepared by the developers (the game has more than one ending).
The developers used several original narrative tricks (the plot is presented practically without words). It is also worth noting that No one lives under the lighthouse is not a particularly long game - it takes about 1-2 hours to complete.
Game modes
In No one lives under the lighthouse we can only play alone. The core of the game is a feature campaign.
Technical aspects
No one lives under the lighthouse has quite simple, three-dimensional graphics. Graphic design does not follow modern standards - it was made in the retro style and therefore refers to the games from the times when the developers were just learning to make a game in three dimensions (1990s). However, the game cannot be denied a heavy atmosphere.
