Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is an adventure game, developed for the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. It was developed by Nintendo and it presents the capabilities and features of the titular console.

Gameplay

In Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour we watch events in an isometric view. During the game, we become a participant in a virtual exhibition, who step by step delves into the technicalities of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, interacting with its gigantic replicas.

Thanks to this, the player and the character controlled by him have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the capabilities of the titular device. We are talking about the functions of specific buttons or options for using Joy-Con as a mouse.

The game also gives us the opportunity to look "under the hood" of the Nintendo Switch 2. Thanks to this, we can check what is hidden under its casing without disassembling the console. This is a chance to learn about many technical details, such as the magnetic system of attaching controllers to the console or the principles of operation of the haptic vibration system.

Switch 2 is almost here, and I think we can all agree it’s definitely worth the hype. But some of Nintendo’s recent decisions? Not so much.

Life is Xbox: 60 / 100 by Robby Bisschop

If you’re the type of person to read the accompanying leaflet when you buy a new toaster or coffee machine, you’ll be happy to know that Nintendo has made an interactive version of just that for their new console.

Final Weapon: 2 / 5 by Noah Hunter

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is packed with practically everything you would ever need to know about the ins and outs of the Nintendo Switch 2. The tech demos are a fun novelty, but they don’t go beyond that — a novelty. The minigames aren’t great, and the quizzes get old quickly, leading to a repetitive experience that is hard to recommend to anyone outside of die-hard Nintendo fans or tech enthusiasts.

Pure Nintendo: 7.5 / 10 by Jemma Casson

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour probably should have been a pack-in release; not because it’s not worth the money, but because it’s turned into a PR nightmare. It also feels like the perfect game to include with a new system. At the end of the day, it wasn’t included; but it IS fun and interesting. So, if you like the sound of it, give it a go! If not, leave it alone. Someone at Nintendo worked hard to put this together, and I, for one, am glad I was able to experience it.
