Ninja Senki DX is an old-school platformer, stylized on 8-bit productions from the 1980s. The game was created by independent studio Tribute Games (known from such games as Wizorb or Mercenary Kings) and was released on PC, PSV and PS4 as well as other devices. This is a remastered and commercial version of Ninja Senki , a free game from 2010 and a debut project of Tribute Games.
Plot
The main character of Ninja Senki DX is a ninja named Hayate. The game opens with the death of Princess Kinuhime - she was killed by demons. The vengeful protagonist rejects the traditional, subtle martial arts of his clan and sets off on a crusade against the inhabitants of hell, mythological beasts and other enemies, armed with an infinite supply of shurikens. Even though the the plot in Ninja Senki DX isn't that important, the story can end in more than one way.
Mechanics
In terms of the gameplay, the game is very similar to the classic two-dimensional arcade games. We move right, jump on the platforms, collect coins and various power-ups, avoid traps and defeat enemies by using our shurikens. In addition, we also face bosses who must be defeated in a specific way. The game is dynamic, which is largely influenced by the fact that we have a limited amount of time to complete each stage.
Ninja Senki DX , available on PC, PSV and PS4, offers 16 different levels and a challenge mode, which is one of the main innovations in the DX edition. In addition, players can also unlock two secret modes and an alternate playable character.
Technical aspects
In terms of visuals, Ninja Senki DX, available on PC, PSV and PS4, resembles 80's platformers - especially when it comes to gameplay, interface and menu screens. The DX edition differs from the free version with only a few new versions of the opponents. The soundtrack has also been remastered, although it still consists of 8-bit melodies.
