Nightmare Creatures II PS1

Nightmare Creatures II, released on PS1 and Dreamcast, is a continuation of the 1997 survival horror. The second part was developed by Kalisto Entertainment.

Plot

Nightmare Creatures II takes place in 1934. The antagonist of the first game, Adam Crowley, creates an army of mutants whose task is to kill a group of monster hunters. Wallace, a patient of Crowley's psychiatric center, is on his way to escape captivity, take revenge on the mutant creator and save his girlfriend, Rachel.

Mechanics

Like the first Nightmare Creatures, the second game is a survival horror where the player breaks through dark levels filled with monsters. In addition to fighting, the game also has simple environmental puzzles, often requiring jumping or swimming. The main character can use not only melee weapons, but also numerous ranged weapons, although this time access to ammunition has been more restricted. Other changes introduced in Nightmare Creatures II is the lack of the adrenaline bar which simplifies the combo system and allows the protagonist to perform impressive finishing attacks.

Technical aspects

Nightmare Creatures II offers 3D environment. Individual levels are characterized by gloomy colors and a dark atmosphere. This is further enhanced by Rob Zombie's music, which can be heard during the cut-scenes.
