If you have played Death Mark, then NG is a worthy successor that surpasses the original in character development, progression of narrative, haunting visuals, and an equally atmospheric soundtrack. Even if you are someone that has just discovered the Spirit Hunter series of visual novels, NG's plot stands alone and will consume you like a vengeful Onryo!

Spirit Hunter: NG Description
NG is the second installment of the Spirit Hunter series of adventure games, following Death Mark. The game belongs to the visual novel genre and is maintained in the horror convention. The plot of this title complements the story known from the previous part. The game was developed, same as the previous part, by the independent studio Experience and published by Aksys Games.
Plot
The main character of NG is a young man who tries to find out what happened to his missing younger sister. Unfortunately, the task turns out to be extremely dangerous - in order to save the girl, the protagonist has to engage in a conflict with exceptionally villainous characters and face dangerous ghosts.
Mechanics
The gameplay in NG is mainly about observing illustrations, reading text and making occasional choices that affect the further course of the game. The creators have prepared a special mechanics called Judge System, which enables us to react to situations in different ways - we are not limited to a few predetermined choices, as is the case with most other games in the genre.
As we play, we explore locations that combine ordinariness with supernatural elements, making them even more disturbing. The hero sometimes must also search for traces in the places he encounters. He does this by using his flashlight, but it is worth being careful - sometimes we can find more than we would like to and thus expose ourselves to additional danger.
Game modes
NG is a single-player game, whose mainstay game is a story campaign.
Technical aspects
The game offers an interestingly designed two-dimensional graphics, which consists mainly of manga style illustrations created by an illustrator named Sumio Fumiya. The artistic style is subdued and the colors used by the artist are rather cold. A lot of attention was paid to the proper representation of emotions (e.g. fear) on the faces of the characters.
