GameCrate: 8.8 / 10 by David Sanchez
Neon Abyss is one of the best roguelite action games to come along in recent memory. Given how many great roguelites we've seen the past few years, that's definitely a tall order. But thanks to its smooth gameplay and compelling upgrade systems, there's no denying just how entertaining and exhilarating Neon Abyss is.
TechRaptor: 6.5 / 10 by Joseph Allen
Neon Abyss is occasionally great. It's let down by repetition, uneven difficulty, and the occasional game-breaking bug.
PC Invasion: 7.5 / 10
Neon Abyss' emphasis on thriving, not surviving is a breath of fresh air in a subgenre defined by struggle. It's chaotic, cathartic gameplay is a welcome surprise and unique take on the formula.

Neon Abyss Description
Neon Abyss is a roguelike game, maintained in the convention of the action platformer. The game was developed by an independent Veewo Games studio.
Plot
In Neon Abyss players take control of one of the heroes traversing the dangerous underworld. The protagonists are trying to find at all costs a way to remove the curse that made them immortal.
Mechanics
Before players begin their adventure in Neon Abyss, they choose one of several characters that differ in terms of appearance and skills. During the game, one observes the action from the side perspective. When traversing the procedurally generated locations, players jump between platforms, avoid traps and eliminate hordes of opponents (led by powerful bosses).
The creators provided an extensive arsenal of firearms and futuristic guns like laser rifles. In addition, as players progress, they gain items that provide them with a variety of passive skills, the effects of which can be freely mixed with each other. Eggs have also been scattered underground, and animal companions with special abilities are hatched and their potential increases as they level up.
If the player gets killed, he or she can go back to the Day's End bar, where they prepare for the next playthrough. It should be remembered that every death leads to changes in the layout of locations arranged in a clever labyrinth; over time, players unlock new rooms offering previously unavailable items and challenges. All this is complemented by mini-games involving, among other things, dancing or even playing the piano.
Technical aspects
Neon Abyss has colorful, two-dimensional visuals made in pixel art technique. One their adventure, players are accompanied by a dynamic soundtrack created by the Chinese composer Min He.
