NBA In the Zone 2000 Description
NBA In the Zone 2000 is the fifth installment of a series of basketball games created by Konami and released on PS1. The production was released in February 2000, a few months after the debut of the competitive title NBA ShootOut 2000.
Mechanics
NBA In the Zone 2000, released on PS1 allows players to play basketball matches based on the classic rules of this sport. The creators took care to recreate 29 NBA teams and more than 300 athletes, animated with the use of motion capture technique. In addition to the traditional game modes, which allow you to play single matches, an entire season and playoffs, for the first time in the series, there are also three-point shooting contest and slam dunk contest.
Konami's production offers traditional options for the genre, such as the ability to create your own player, track statistics, make transfers and manage your team. Matches are a bit simpler than competing titles - players have a limited number of actions at their disposal, which allows them to master the nuances of gameplay quickly.
Technical aspects
NBA in the Zone 2000 uses a three-dimensional graphics engine. Players' models are average, although thanks to the motion capture technique they move realistically on the pitch. During the matches, players are accompanied by Ray Clay's commentary who, during the release of the game, was part of Chicago Bulls' team.
