Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 for X360 and PS3 is another installment in the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series, which follows the adventures of a bright-haired ninja by the name of Naruto. The game was developed by Cyberconnect 2 – a team that had also created the previous Naruto games.

Mechanics & Game modes

Again, the experience was divided into two main modes. Fighting is the first and the player assumes the roles of the most popular characters created by Masashi Kishimoto here; action takes place on three-dimensional arenas. The game offers most of the characters from the original manga series. Each of the in-game ninjas has their own, separate fighting style, as well as a unique set of spectacular special attacks.

Apart from pure fighting, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 for X360 and PS3 features a story mode. Here, the players can explore the Naruto universe and take part in the greatest battles that appeared first in the manga series. In terms of the story present here, the game goes on until the Leaf Village gets invaded by the Nine-Tails (both in manga and anime series, it was presented in the form of a retrospection). As a result, the player has a chance to take on the roles of mainly the Third Hokage that fights Kyuubi, and the Fourth Hokage, who faces Tobi.

Technical aspects

Once again, a successful art style was applied here as well. Cel-shaded graphics make a perfect job of representing the specific style of Japanese animation. Thus the visual impressions resemble watching another episode of one's favourite series.
