Naiad is an exploration game, prioritizing minimalism and providing the player with a sense of relaxation. It was developed by HiWarp, an indie one-man studio.
Plot
In Naiad we play as the title naiad (in Greek mythology they were nymphs of the land waters). The protagonist swims across a long river and helps various animals navigate and avoid obstacles.
Game mechanics
In Naiad we observe the action from a top-down perspective. The game is divided into sixteen episodes, during which the protagonist swims through various charming locations - from dense forests and orchards, through caves, to the mouth of the river to the sea. Along the way, the protagonist encounters a variety of creatures such as butterflies, rabbits, crocodiles, turtles and snakes, which she helps to find their way. The gameplay takes place at a leisurely pace - no one and nothing is chasing you and there's no way to die here.
Technical aspects
Naiad attracts attention with its vibrantly colored graphics in an original style reminiscent of watercolor paintings.
