The title is a spin-off of the Mystery Dungeon series based on One Way Heroics, an independent game that is popular in Japan. 20 playable characters are available in the game and among them there are the characters from such series as Danganronpa and Shiren the Wanderer.

Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics for PC, PS4 and PSV is a jRPG that is popular in Japan, where it was released in July 2015 on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 under the title Fushigi no Chronicle: Furikaerimasen Katsu Madewa. It is based on the independent title One Way Heroics which is popular in Japan, to which it adds characters known from series like Danganronpa and Shiren the Wanderer. The title was produced and published by Spike Chunsoft.
