My Night Job for PC and PS4 is an action game developed by a Brazilian independent developer Webcore Games. The title was published by a German company, bitComposer Interactive, which usually distributes browser games. The game is held in, lately very popular, pixel-art stylistic, hence referencing to classic titles from arcade cabinets, while offering interesting gameplay model at the same time.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in an abandoned mansion filled with danger. The player assumes the role of a middle-aged man who is bored with his life. Because of that, he decides to work as a member of a special unit. During various missions he faces hordes of enemies who are standing on his way to freeing hostages held in the building.

Mechanics

The gameplay in My Night Job for PC and PS4 is focused mostly on combat. The game offers more than 60 different weapons – one can use almost each element of interior design. The players can deal with enemies with his bare hands as well. An important aspect of the gameplay is the fact that as one progresses through the game, the enemies (there are 11 types of them) are gradually becoming stronger. Thanks to that, the game always remains challenging. The developers have decided to use achievements available on Steam and PlayStation Network as an additional part of the game. With each obtained award the protagonist obtains additional abilities thanks to which the game becomes more varied.

The action is shown from a side perspective, like in typical two-dimensional action games. During the mission, players travel through various floors of the abandoned mansion, free hostages and look for additional equipment. In addition, players must make sure that the monsters won’t damage the building too much – otherwise the construction might collapse and bury the protagonist.

Technical aspects

My Night Job for PC and PS4 offers colorful, old school graphics with a humorous touch. The production is synchronized with a global ranking, so the players can easily check the achievements of others.
