My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble is an online TPP action battle royale game based on the popular anime Boku no Hero Academia - heroes and villains from this game are playable characters in it (Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, All Might, or Tomura Shigaraki, among others). Game was developed by Japanese studio Bandai Namco.

Game mechanics

Basic gameplay mechanics are not different from typical for this genre. Before the match, we choose a character and have a chance to get acquainted with his skills - unique for each hero. Then, together with other players in groups of three we go to the battle arena, to a chosen place, where we have to survive as long as possible - the last surviving team wins. The area of the game regularly decreases, and being outside the safe zone results in death.

Each character has three unique skills, allowing for short and long range combat. We improve them in the course of the game by finding the appropriate cards - we choose in which direction we'll develop the character - for example, whether we'll bet on more offensive abilities or those supporting the team. Cards that are not useful to us can be gifted to team members. In the game we also get other items useful in combat, such as increasing the capacity of the equipment, giving the shield potions or restoring health points to us or all team members in range. We find them directly on the ground, in chests or get them from lost civilians - what's interesting, if our character is a hero, we save them, and if the villain, we attack.

We can move around the arena by running and jumping, climbing on vertical objects or gliding between them. Many structures can be destroyed, and some skills allow us to build new ones.

Game modes

In My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble we can play only in online co-op - in a team with two other players, during one match we face seven teams of three players.

Technical aspects

Graphics and animations resemble the anime on which the game is based - they are characterized by vivid colors and "cartoonish" style."cartoonish" style.
