Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition

Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition is a three-dimensional arcade sports game. The title is a refreshed version of the Mutant Football League released a year earlier. We play matches, the rules of which are based on American football. Unlike traditional simulators of this sport, such as the Madden NFL series, in this title, we control representatives of many fantastic races, such as skeletons, androids, aliens, mutants, trolls or orcs, while themselves matches are extremely brutal and often end up with the death of players. Digital Dreams Entertainment is responsible for creating this production.

Mechanics

Gameplay in Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition is based on classic American football-focused sports games. We move a selected seven-person team on a three-dimensional pitch, trying to score points. Our players come in different sizes and abilities.

Contrary to the Madden NFL series, the gameplay is a bit less about playing with the ball, and a bit more about direct clashes and elimination of individual players. We are able to use many dirty tricks, such as bribing a judge, throwing bombs and even direct attacks - both firearms (e.g. rifles) and hand-to-hand combat (including classic chainsaws). Interestingly, the festival of violence visible on the pitch does not end even after the last whistle.

The game features dozens of playable teams (including Nuked London Hatriots, Killadelphia Evils, New Goreleans Zombies, as well as exclusive for the physical release Hexxon Oilers and Purple Mutant Eaters), many races (including two that were not included in the previous version of Mutant Football League) and a wide selection of stadiums full of deadly traps - holes with lava, mines, or protruding saw blades. The game also has a weather system, which may additionally influence the course of the game.

Game modes

Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition offers many game modes. In Dynasty Mode we become a trainer and lead our team to success as part of an extensive single-player campaign. We are responsible for payouts, buying/selling players, and collect experience points for our actions, which enables us to unlock subsequent player levels.

In addition to the campaign, the game also features Exhibition, Training Camp, Practice, Playoffs, and Full Season modes. Multiplayer matches can be played with one or three other players.

Technical aspects

Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition features attractive three-dimensional graphics. Both stadiums and character models have been prepared with great attention to detail. The tournament is accompanied by a professional sports commentary with the participation of Tim Kitzrov, known for his coverage of the matches of the American basketball league - NBA.
