MUSYNX Description
MUSYNX is a typical music and rhythm game, offering over a hundred different songs and two game modes. The producer of the title is an independent development studio I-Inferno from China. The prototype version of MUSYNX was released in 2014 on PlayStation Vita as MUSYNC and was only available in the short-lived PlayStation Mobile program, which closed in 2015. After the title stopped being sold on PlayStation Store, the developers released it on iOS and Android. Since then, developers have been successfully developing the game under a new name and transferring it to other platforms.
Mechanics
MUSYNX uses a classic gameplay model, known for example from the legendary DJMAX series. In the course of the game, the screen shows a vertical route divided into several paths, on which colorful blocks appear, moving from top to bottom of the screen. Each track is assigned to one of the buttons on the controller which must be pressed at the right moment to the rhythm of the music. On some supported hardware platforms, we can alternatively use a touch screen.
MUSYNX offers two gameplay modes. In the first one, we use four buttons and in the second one six buttons. In addition, we can choose one of three levels of difficulty and independently determine the speed at which the next blocks appear on the screen. All songs are available right from the start because the creators did not include any campaign or system of unlocking further elements of the game.
Technical aspects
MUSYNX has an extensive library of over a hundred music pieces created by independent artists from China, Taiwan, and Japan, representing a wide variety of music genres such as rock, techno, pop, trance, R&B, and so on. The library of songs is constantly expanded by developers and available for free.
