OpenCritic
A cyberpunk FPS with roguelite elements, offering a neon style with anime inspirations. Mullet Mad Jack is the main protagonist and he needs a dopamine dose every 10 second or he'll die. This is achieved by quickly dealing with enemy robots in various sci-fi locations.
Mullet Mad Jack is a dynamic FPS with roguelike elements, inspired by the cult anime. The game was created by an independent developer using the nickname Hammer95.
Plot
Mullet Mad Jack takes us to the future, to the year 2090. The world is ruled by robots called Robillionaires under the control of artificial intelligence. We play as Mad Jack, a creature created from the combination of man and the Internet. The protagonist must supply himself with dopamine every 10 seconds, otherwise he will die. This inclines him to become one of the so-called Moderators, who "kill" robots, thus ensuring themselves additional seconds of life.
Mechanics
In Mullet Mad Jack, we make our way through futuristic locations and eliminate hordes of robots. We eliminate enemies, making use of a rich arsenal that includes, among others, a katana, a pistol, a knife, and a sniper rifle. For each defeated opponent, we are rewarded with additional seconds of life, and combining kills into spectacular combinations increases the bonuses awarded to us.
The locations we travel through are procedurally generated, so each playthrough may look different from the previous one. Furthermore, as we progress, we unlock various upgrades that increase our combat potential.
Game modes
Mullet Mad Jack allows for solo play only. The game includes a story campaign. In addition to the default mode, during which there is a constant countdown to our death, the game also offers an optional recreational mode, without time limits.
There is also an infinite mode to check out, where we fight our way through successive locations until the countdown ends.
Technical aspects
The graphic design of Mullet Mad Jack is in a cartoonish, neon style. Despite this, a lot of blood can appear on the screen and the finishers can be very brutal.

Destructoid: 9 / 10 by Zoey Handley
If you’ve ever had thoughts of throwing your phone away or abandoning the internet to its robotic rulers, Mullet MadJack taps into that frustration. The neon nostalgia of a better era is fertile ground for a game that feels like beating a microwave to death with a crowbar.
XboxEra: 9 / 10 by Jesse Norris
Mullet MadJack is excellent in every way. It looks great, sounds even better, and has gameplay for days. It’s a day-one port into Xbox Game Pass. No matter your skill level, there will be something for you to do in this weirdly wonderful title.
Entertainium: by Eduardo Rebouças
Taking place in a crazy version of a not-so-far flung future, Mullet MadJack is a mad dash towards the finish, drenched in some of the best cyberpunk aesthetics I’ve ever seen in a videogame. Brazilian studio Hammer95’s debut game is an incredibly violent, blood-pumping adventure that keeps on giving, stage after stage of fast action and a level of excitement that’s comparable to the seminal indie classic Hotline Miami.
