Mooncrest is a PC-based cRPG game referring to the classic solutions that ruled this genre in the second half of the 90s of the last century. The title was developed by the KnightMayor team, founded by former BioWare studio employees, where they co-created Jade Empire, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
The campaign takes us to a classic fantasy land and tells the story of two women. The first of these is the noble but naive paladin named Sera, who, after many years of training, sets out into the world in search of adventure. During the journey he meets the insidious warrior Pirotasa and together they try to stop the conspiracy that could lead to the destruction of the city of Mooncrest.
The central point of Mooncrest is an interesting story, the key element of which is the relationship between the two heroines. Cheese and Pirotase have completely different personalities and life stories, and the contrast between them drives much of the story. The realization of these plans is facilitated by the cinema dialogue system, which presents conversations in a visually attractive form and allows for free shaping of their course. Moreover, the method of conversation influences the statistics of compassion, which is directly reflected in the effectiveness of paladin fight.
Battles are played in real time with an active pause, and the combat system prepared by the creators offers a lot of tactical freedom, thanks to which the outcome of the match is determined both by the cleverness of the player and the statistics of the characters commanded by him. We also spend a lot of time solving puzzles. Puzzles are difficult and ingenious, and in their design the authors were inspired by classic adventures. The game also included the mechanics of character development. For our successes we are rewarded with experience points, which allow us to improve heroines' statistics and teach them new skills.
