Moonbriar Description
Moonbriar is a visual novel developed by an indie studio OldBlood Games. It's set in a fantasy land inhabited by anthropomorphic rabbits facing difficult times.
The game features hand-drawn graphics and an intriguing voice cast, consisting of such actors and actresses as Ralph Ineson (Game of Thrones), Savannah Steyn (House of the Dragon) and Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral).
Plot
The rabbitfolk of Moonbriar regularly face disasters deemed the Great Culling. The main protagonist of the game is Fern, a supposed chosen one capable of saving her people from wars, hunger and plagues. To fulfill her role she must first break free from the tyranny of the evil ruler Nightshade.
Mechanics
As befitting a visual novel, Moonbriar is composed mainly of static scenes, most conflicts resolved by choosing appropriate dialogue options. Fern has three primary stats - Diplomacy, Willpower and Strategy, all corresponding to her preferred problem-solving approach. Each approach leads to different results and gradually develops its attributed stat.
Throughout the game we'll encounter over 25 NPCs, including rebels, royalists and opportunists caring only for themselves. Some can be befriended, others even romanced. Depending on our choices, we'll reach one of six different endings defining Moonbriar's fate,
