Monster Rancher EVO is a game created by specialists from Tecmo corporation, responsible, among others, for the Dead or Alive series. The title combines the features of an action game and an RPG, referring in many ways to the Pokemon saga.

The plot revolves around Julie, a young monster breeder who plays in the circus every day. The boy dreams of becoming the most popular beast trainer in the world. Unfortunately, he has recently lost his favorite hobbyist and is completely unaware of how to deal with this situation. Luckily, with the help of his friends, Julio begins to believe in himself again, and the hope of success is supported by a newly met girl, Nayuta, who offers one of her mutant animals to the protagonist.

During the game we travel through three-dimensional lands, visiting a total of seven different cities, inhabited by independent characters, who commission us with missions and opponents who want to deprive us of our fame and creations. Our basic task is to train the beasts, modelled on the Pokemons, in such a way that they are able to cope both in combat and during circus performances. So we create our own training program for each of our monsters, paying attention to features such as speed, stamina, strength and defense skills. At the same time, we must remember to allow our guests to rest from time to time. Thanks to this, they do not lose efficiency. During duels we collect valuable items and points with the help of which our pets, as well as we ourselves advance to the next levels of experience. Monsters also learn new tricks and gain unique attacks and abilities. For one battle we can put up up to three hunters. It is a treat for collectors that in the world of Monster Rancher EVO you can find as many as 250 different creatures, some of which can be crossed with each other, thus creating an unusual individual.

The audiovisual setting of the game openly refers to the manga style, delighting us with a view of characters with large eyes, dressed in fancy, richly decorated outfits. In important moments of the plot we see refined film interludes, of which the previous editions of Monster Rancher are also famous. According to the authors, the completion of the game takes from 30 to 50 hours.
