A motorcycle racing game focusing on supercross – a motorcycle racing event where the players compete on dirt tracks filled with jumps and other obstacles. The game offers a number of single player modes, multiplayer, and a track editor.
Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videgame is a motorcycle racing game developed by Milestone – a studio responsible for series such as MotoGP, RIDE, MXGP or WRC: FIA World Rally Championship.
Mechanics
As the title indicates, the game focuses on supercross – racing series that take place on closed stadiums and courses filled with steep jumps and obstacles. The game is characteristic for its immersive realism – success requires a lot of practice and training. The devs have managed to acquire the official license of Monster Energy Supercross 2017, introducing real venues (including the famed Daytona) brands, and motorcycles. We can choose from two separate motorbike classes – 250SX and 450SX.
The players can modify their looks at will by choosing one of 300 items from 80 different brands. Moreover, we can tune and modify our motorbike. The game also features a track editor that offers simple track building and allows us to share our creations with the online community.
Game Modes
Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame offers both single- and multiplayer modes, including a career mode, single race, or the multiplayer itself.
Technical Aspects
The game is based on Unreal Engine 4. Interestingly enough, the faces of the individual participants were scanned in 3D. The same technique was used during track building.
