Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation Description
Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation is a network action game distributed in a free-to-play model. It was placed in the rich universe of the first animated Gundama series from the 80's. The producer of the title is the Japanese company Namco Bandai. For over twenty years, the developer has been launching new games with gundamas in the main role, which have found their way to virtually all known hardware platform games.
The action of the game takes place during the so-called one-year war, in which rebellious cosmic colonists, forming an authoritarian, self-proclaimed republic of Zeon, attack our planet controlled by the Earth's Federation. In addition to traditional military forces such as infantry and aviation, both sides use powerful combat robots with enormous firepower and combat capabilities.
Mobile Suit Gundam gameplay: Battle Operation is focused on pure action, but at times it also requires a bit of strategic thinking from players, e.g. in the selection of weapons and improvements for the moss. Great robots are divided into three classes, adapted to different fighting styles. What is interesting, we are not doomed to sit at the helm of the moss, at any time we can leave the cockpit and take in our hands anti-tank weapons, which, contrary to appearances, turns out to be quite effective in the fight against slow colossuses of several meters. There are always two teams of six pilots participating in the game. The winner is the one who scores the most points at the end of the eight-minute game, received for destruction and damage to opponents' robots or will follow the guidelines set out at the beginning of the mission. The winning tasks are to destroy the opponent's base or to score and maintain specific points on the map. After each duel we can improve, change parts and color of the chosen mecha. If we manage to get the plans hidden on the board, we can introduce a completely new robot model to our virtual hangar.
The three-dimensional graphic design of the title does not impress, and the set design and levels are made very sparingly. The lack of contemporary graphic effects is also noticeable. Despite the Spartan look, the game engine is not able to provide smooth gameplay, which drastically decreases the number of frames displayed in the hottest moments.
