MLB Power Pros is a cartoon baseball game. It is also another representative of the extremely popular product series in Japan. Power Pros is the first title in this series released in English. Unlike many other sports games, in which the main goal is to show all the rules of a given sport, Power Pros features funny players and a very simplified control scheme. The moves performed by the characters have nothing to do with realism. This game was developed by Konami and was released on PS2 and Wii. The differences between these versions only apply to the controls.

MLB Power Pros has a full license of Major League Baseball meaning that we can count on the presence of all teams, stadiums, and players. Players' characters resemble cartoon characters to a greater extent. However, the developer made sure that the most famous baseball players stand out from the rest. This is achieved with an unusual hairstyle or other special features of appearance. The game focuses primarily on good fun - it doesn't require you to know the rules of this sport. With just a few buttons, we make spectacular movements, thanks to which the team under our command can take the lead.

Game modes

MLB Power Pros is distinguished by a very wide range of available play modes. Season Mode offers a full season that is played according to the designated scheme. We play the role of a manager of a team of our choice, trying to get our players to win. In addition to playing matches, we also perform many other activities - we train players, buy better equipment, make transfers, or money bets.

The second main mode of this game is Success Mode. It combines elements of a sports game and a simple RPG. Here, we perform strictly defined tasks that are part of a fully-fledged plot. The developer didn't forget about multiplayer fans.

Technical aspects

The graphics in MLB Power Pros aren't great. However, the dynamic character of the game deserves attention, definitely surpassing the majority of games focusing on this type of sports.
