Mistover Description
Mistover is a dark RPG developed by KRAFTON, which includes Bluehole and PUBG Corporation studios.
Plot
Mistover takes us on a journey to a gloomy, fantasy world. The once beautiful Kingdom of Arta fell victim of an invasion of the hordes of monsters that invaded from the Vortex; it is a place where various dimensions meet, distorted by the mysterious Mist. When it seemed that there was no more salvation for the inhabitants of the land, the aggressive creatures disappeared without a trace. Those who survived decided to prevent such a catastrophe in the future. The only way to do this, however, is to send an expedition to investigate the Vortex. During the game we take control of the daredevils tasked with getting the job done.
Mechanics
In Mistover, the action is shown in isometric view. The team we control during the game may include representatives of eight professions, including Paladin, Ronin (a warrior from the Far East), Witch or even Werewolf. As we travel through diverse but equally gloomy locations like mountain peaks, dense forests and towns, we have to be careful about the next steps; the food ends quickly, detecting dangers is made difficult by poor visibility, and the death of a character is permanent. A separate mention should be made of the aforementioned Mist, which in various ways affects our characters, their equipment, as well as the locations or beings living in them. The effects of its action can be mitigated only by a special antidote and a solid rest.
Although engaging in battles is the last resort, sooner or later we will have to fight. The skirmishes take place in turn-based mode. In the course of these activities, it is necessary to skillfully juggle more than twenty skills, which are available to individual team members. In addition, formation plays an important role, as the correct positioning of the heroses allows for coordinated and thus more powerful attacks. However, if the skirmish turns out to be too difficult, you can try to save ourselves by escaping.
For careful exploration and accurate plundering of visited places (which are generated procedurally) we are rewarded with new equipment and improvements to our existing equipment. In addition, protagonists learn new skills as they progress.
Technical aspects
Mistover features cartoonish, yet gloomy graphics, which in terms of style evokes associations with titles such as Darkest Dungeon or Iratus: Lord of the Dead.
