Might and Magic: Heroes Kingdoms is a browser MMO game, a fresh look at the universe of one of the most acclaimed fantasy series. You start the game from creating your hero. Initially, you own only one city, which you have to develop. To do this, you have to cut down forests, clear off nearby areas of monsters, capture mines, and raise buildings.
Your kingdom belongs to one of four available factions (you can choose from: Heaven, Hell, Necromancy, and the Academy) taken from Heroes of Might & Magic V. Once made, the decision is final and it modifies features of your hero and the city he commands. If you want to access specializations, units, or heroes belonging to other factions, first you need to conquer these factions. Along with the in game progress, your stronghold gets bigger and wealthier, and your character mightier, which allows you to recruit more numerous and stronger units.
The gameplay is turn-based with turns occurring simultaneously for all players. This means that you can give out orders whenever you want, without having to wait for others to do so. Might and Magic: Heroes Kingdoms offers both story missions, in which you fight against AI-controlled monsters, and competitive gameplay against other players. The game’s ultimate goal is to take possession of mysterious artifacts – thirteen Tears of Asha. Whenever a player succeeds in finding one of them, all other people playing on the same server are informed of that fact and can try join forces to take the artifact by force. The game is broken into seasons – the winner of each season is the player with the most artifacts. Each server holds hundreds of players, so it is strongly advisable to join players’ guilds. In the long run, lone wolfs may be unable to win on their own.
Might and Magic: Heroes Kingdoms is a free-to-play title accessed via browsers. The graphics is really well-polished for this type of games – it has visual style and gameplay mechanics close to Heroes of Might & Magic V. The game allows for optional payment in the form of monthly subscription, which allows players to establish more cities and recruit more heroes than in the free version, as well as trade artifacts with others.
