Midnight Club Video Game Series
The highly popular car racing series, created and developed by Rockstar Games based on development studios Rockstar San Diego (formerly Angel Studios), Rockstar Leeds, Rockstar London and Rebellion Developments.
The first game in the series - Midnight Club: Street Racing was released in 2000 for the PlayStation 2 console (a port to the Game Boy Advance was released a year later). The title was well received among gamers and critics, who appreciated the size of the virtual cities and the long list of car models. For the sequel - Midnight Club II had to wait three years. This time the game arrived not only on the PS2, but also on the competitive Xbox and PC. The production received very complimentary notes, which, combined with good sales results, resulted in the next installments of the series - Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (2005) and Midnight Club: Los Angeles (2008).
A common feature of all games in the series Midnight Club are spectacular illegal races through the streets of big-city metropolises - New York, London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, San Diego, Atlanta or Detroit. The open world structure allows players a lot of freedom in the choice of routes, as well as the use of all kinds of shortcuts.
As befits the car racing genre, the series Midnight Club offers access to a sizable number of cars of different classes. The driving model is strictly arcade in nature and is a development of ideas known from earlier achievements of the Angel Studios team (such as the series Midtown Madness). In addition to the story-driven campaign of the single-player mode, players can try their hand at competing against live opponents.
Initially, the visuals of the games in the series Midnight Club was due to the Angel Game Engine. The breakthrough turned out to be the use of RAGE technology in Midnight Club: Los Angeles, which provided the qualitative leap expected by fans.
According to data made public by Take-Two Interactive, in 2011 sales of games from the series of Midnight Club exceeded 18.5 million copies worldwide. This placed the series in second place at the time (after Grand Theft Auto) in terms of the most profitable brands in the US publisher's portfolio.

The fourth installment in a popular series of racing games, which has been developed over the years by Rockstar San Diego. In contrast to the previous Midnight Club games (the player competed in many different cities around the world), this follow-up takes the player to the titular city of angels. The developer recreated all the main districts of the metropolis, with a special emphasis placed on Hollywood. Street racing is again the core of the experience and the player is given an opportunity to control diverse cars. In the virtual garage, one will find both classic cars (above all, different versions of Ford Mustang) and modern-day rides, such as Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mazda RX-8, Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo or Lamborghini Murcielago. The available cars are accompanied by a few motorcycles, such as certain Kawasaki models. All the vehicles included can be customized, both visually and in order to improve their performances. Midnight Club: Los Angeles comes with high-quality visuals, which apply especially to polished car and bike models, as well as to diverse environment rich in detail. All of this is complemented by a day-night cycle.
