Metallic Child is the third (after Smashing the Battle and Overturn) work of the independent, one-man company of Studio HG. The title in question is a dynamic action game, enriched with elements taken from the roguelike genre.
Story
The main character in Metallic Child is Rona, an android prototype. The protagonist wakes up on a space station controlled by aggressive robots, which she then has to face.
Mechanics
In Metallic Child the action is shown in an isometric view. The gameplay revolves around quick battles against all kinds of machines, played on procedurally generated boards. We are faced with enormous quantities of weaker enemies, as well as oversized bosses with greater resistance to damage and considerable attack power. During the clashes, our protagonist can use a wide range of weapons and firearms, and is supported by various drones; moreover, her combat potential can be increased by various power-ups.
Technical issues
Metallic Child has three-dimensional graphics in a manga style; battles against opponents are accompanied by countless explosions and flashes, and their pace is enhanced by the lively music.
