The first game of the very popular shooting series, which was presented in full 3D. However, the climate of the vending machines has not changed.

SNK Playmore resigned from the usual formula of combining a classic two-dimensional platformer with shooting and created an action game with a view from behind the character's back.

In Metal Slug 3D we can direct the fate of four soldiers, already known from previous versions of the series. Marco, Fiona, Tarma and Eri return, although not all characters are available from the beginning of the game. The action of this part takes place in 2030 and allows to face the forces of evil once again.

In order to distinguish the game from two-dimensional versions of Metal Sluga, the authors decided to deepen the gameplay. Although the basis is still the elimination of hordes of enemies, the system has been complemented by numerous opportunities for character and vehicle development. Each of the heroes is described with features they can develop and also has a combat machine. It can be changed and improved in a special garage. Eleven missions have been prepared for each character, with the part almost identical, regardless of the chosen hero. There are also 17 different types of weapons and a dozen or so projects of enemies to be defeated. The life span of the title is increased by hidden elements to collect and one mini-game that puts us in the role of a prisoner preparing to escape.
