MegaRace 2 is a continuation of the action racing game released in 1993. Players again take part in a futuristic TV show where they compete as armoured car drivers for valuable prizes. Developers from Cryo Interactive studio took care of more car models and definitely more technically advanced visuals of their work.
Three years after the release of MegaRace, the development team from Cryo Interactive studio prepared the continuation of their hit. The creators decided to move away from the idea of shooting from the kind of viewfinder to more classic races with elements of the action game.
MegaRace 2 again focuses on a fictional TV show hosted by the eccentric Lance Boyle. Program participants stand at the start of spectacular races. This time, however, the rules have changed. Instead of eliminating gangs of cutthroats, players must try to reach the finish line before their competitors.
The game features 14 armored car models, which can be driven in races. Developers have prepared only 6 routes, but the condition to go to the next stage is at least three times each track (twice in the first three and the final victory). Each tournament involves 8 drivers, with the slowest being eliminated from further fun.
The driving model used in MegaRace 2 has an arcade character. In addition, during the struggle with rivals, you can use various types of weapons, as well as power-ups appearing on the route.
The use of a more modern graphic engine has allowed the Cryo Interactive team to significantly improve the quality of the visual setting. Both three-dimensional vehicle models and the track environment are rendered in real time. There were also film interludes, which were made in full-motion-video technology.
