At the beginning of the game you choose one of the four characters, which translates into a general level of difficulty, e.g. Madcap is an extremely demanding opponent, so beginners should decide on him. The action of the programme is divided into nine historical periods, from the Stone Age to the era of space flights. In each stage you have to conquer three islands, which is tantamount to the elimination of all competitors.
The most important thing in the game is the correct distribution of people between certain activities. Your subordinates can extract raw materials (needed to produce weapons), develop inventions (the more scientists involved, the faster the results) and fight (necessary to conquer surrounding territories). Research into new means of extermination, which will give you access to better technologies, is definitely in the foreground. Already in the first land, people equipped with slings have a better chance of winning than even the most numerous cavemen armed with stones.
Mega lo Mania is a product that is banally simple to use, but also demanding in terms of actions taken. If you dream of victory (especially in later epochs), you must always be a step ahead of other civilizations. This can only be achieved through a detailed analysis of available resources (raw materials) and their skilful use in the production of armaments. Despite the fact that Mega lo Mania also contains other threads than the typically military (there is even a residual diplomacy, allowing to form alliances), it is the skill of conducting warfare that is the most important here.
The game has a tasteful visual setting, characterized by nice sceneries, meticulously designed units and buildings consistent with the historical era. In addition to music and typical sound effects, we will also hear spoken samples from time to time. Mega lo Mania is an interesting proposition for more demanding players. Although the idea of the game and the number of available options are blatantly simple, in reality they put the participant in front of difficult and thought-provoking actions.
