MediEvil is a slightly grotesque third-person action game, in which the main character tries to regain his honor. The Sony Computer Entertainment studio in London, formerly known as Millennium Interactive, is responsible for its creation.

Plot

The story begins in 1286 when King Peregrin falls victim to the attack of the evil sorcerer Zarok. During the decisive battle, the king's protégé, the knight Daniel Fortesque, is killed with an arrow. Nevertheless, stories of Fortesque's bravery, honored posthumously with the title of nobility, go into the world. 100 years later, the evil sorcerer returns and accidentally brings Sir Daniel back to life. Our protagonist has a unique chance to regain his honor and take revenge on the assassins.

Mechanics

The gameplay in MediEvil is shown in the third-person perspective. We play as the resurrected knight - we travel through successive three-dimensional locations and eliminate hostile enemies standing on our way. Unfortunately, the protagonist didn't regain his former body and is now only a skeleton. At the beginning of the game, the hero's only weapon is his detachable arm. However, Sir Daniel later gets access to more traditional melee and ranged weapons. The money gained during the game can then be spent on equipment offered by the merchants. At each stage, the hero can also earn a special bonus cup and collect runic stones that unlock access to new locations.
