MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries Description
MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries is another installment in the series of tactical-simulation action games, MechWarrior. We dive into the world of Battle Tech yet again, this time around as a mercenary working for money, and fight using 100-ton battle robots armed with all kinds of weapons known from the previous games in the series, as well as some new ones, such as Rotary Autocannon. The player, as a freelancer, may lead his very own mercenary band, freely buy and upgrade his mechs, hire pilots, take lucrative jobs, and even cooperate with famous mercenary organizations, such as Wolf’s Dragoons, Northwind Highlanders, Kell Hound and Gray Death Legion. The single player mode offers a campaign with a complex story, full of intrigue, betrayal and power struggle, that makes the player feel like a puppet, a tool to be used by those in power.
In total, the game offers over 40 missions with various objectives to complete, such as recon, escort or defense. We also get more than 35 mechs at our disposal. Moreover, for the first time in the history of the MechWarrior series, we may command eight mechs simultaneously. Of course, we also have to maintain, repair and arm them, which is not cheap at all. This, in turn, leads to an additional source of income and prestige which is the Coloseum and the tournaments that take place therein. We may participate in such tournaments at any time to prove our worth. MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries is powered by an enhanced version of the MechWarrior 4: Vengeance engine.
The game also offers a multiplayer mode with a bunch of different modes to choose from.
