Master of Magic: Rise of the Soultrapped

Master of Magic: Rise of the Soultrapped is a large expansion to a 2022 4X turn-based strategy game, Master of Magic. It was developed by the MuHa Games, a Polish studio also responsible for the original game.

Plot

Master of Magic: Rise of the Soultrapped introduces a new kingdom - Techmagic - where magic merges with technology. The power of techmagic awakens ancient forces, destined to forever change the kingdoms of Arcanus and Myrror. While older mages consider it a modern abomination, others recognize its dormant potential. It's up to the player which side to take and how to shape the kingdoms' fate.

Mechanics

The most prominent of the new content introduced in Master of Magic: Rise of the Soultrapped is techmagic; spells combining magic and advanced technology. Some uses for it include recon probes to discover nodes on maps or cyber sprites which buff our units.

There are also technological dugneons to explore, guarder by the mysterious, rebellious Soultrapped. They're challenging, but worth the effort, as they hide valuable treasure within. The DLC also introduces three new mages, four heroes, ten spells and six additional traits.

Master of Magic: Rise of the Soultrapped is a non-standalone expansion, requiring the base version of Master of Magic to function.
