Mark of the Deep

Mark of the Deep is an action adventure game, inspired by soulslike games and enriched with elements taken from metroidvania. The production was developed by Mad Mimic Interactive, an independent studio from Brazil with a portfolio that includes the Dandy Ace project.

The plot of

Mark of the Deep tells the story of a pirate crew whose ship crashed on an island previously known only from myths and legends. In the course of the game we play the role of Marcus Ramsey called Rookie. The protagonist's task is to find his missing colleagues, discover the grim secret of the indigenous inhabitants of this piece of land and find a way to escape.

The matter is complicated by the fact that our comrades have been affected by the curse of the deep, and it is up to us whether we spr?bt to help them by performing tasks for them, or care only for ourselves. At the same time, it is worth remembering that our choices affect the course of the story and its ending.

Gameplay

In Mark of the Deep , the action is presented in an isometric view. While wandering around the island, we mainly deal with the elimination of hordes of enemies. Clashes are dynamic, and during them we have to be in constant motion and perform efficient dodges and quick counterattacks.

Both cultists, undead and monsters from the abyss stand in our way. In addition to regular enemies, we regularly have to face much more powerful bosses, looking for their weak points and gaps in defense.

As we progress, we collect better weapons and unlock skills, among which supernatural powers guaranteed by the title "mark of the abyss" are the most important. It is worth remembering that additional abilities come in handy both on the battlefield and during exploration, providing us with access to previously undiscovered locations.
