Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour Description
Mario Golf: Toadstool tour updates the vaunted Mario Golf series and brings it to the GCN. Mario Golf games have always been a hit with gamers and real-life golfers alike. Even if you can't tell a golf club from a club soda, the game's brainy AI will guide you to success--all you have to do is swing! Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour also has enough full-bodied features to impress the most discriminating fan of golf sims. You can carefully select your club, choose the optimal contact point and trajectory, compensate for wind and green speeds, and much, much more!
Features
* Two new styles of golf courses and a new swing system offer both the seasoned Mario golfer and those new to the game a fresh look at golfing in the Mushroom Kingdom.
* A sophisticated putting grid system shows the green's peaks and dips, making it much easier to gauge your shot.
* Boost your drives by choosing the power option. Drop your ball right near the hole by choosing an approach shot. You can easily adjust the power of your shot with the L and R buttons.
* Terrific camera controls let you carefully plan your shot.
* Play modes include Tournament, Stroke Play, Doubles and more.
Each character in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour has unique strengths -- and weaknesses. (Wario and Waluigi, those diehard egomaniacs, might beg to differ about the weakness part, though!) If you shrewdly compensate for a character's weaknesses, you can rack up impressive scores!
The courses of Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour are a mix between spectacularly beautiful standard courses set amid mountains and rolling hills and the special courses that could only be possible in the Mushroom Kingdom. For example, in Peach's Invitational, you can chip a ball into a Warp Pipe, then watch it pop out of another pipe elsewhere on the hole. Knock the ball into a sand trap only if you want to raise the ire of a Chain Chomp. Trust us, it's not a pretty sight!
Plenty of side games will keep you reaching into your golf bag for Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. One to four players can enter a tournament, facing 30 tough challengers. You can win trophies and badges for excelling on particular holes. The ability to collect prizes and secrets adds to the game's already outstanding replay value.
Bottom Line
The combination of standard and Mushroom Kingdom courses gives golf fans both the thrill of fantasy and the connection to reality. Easy to pick up and play, yet endlessly challenging for serious gamers, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour is a game you'll want to tee off with again and again.
