March On Oz is a strategy game combining elements of RTS and Tower Defense genre. The action takes place in the universe known from the Wizard from the land of Oz. Players include command over a group of heroes whose task is to stop an enemy army march through a cobbled yellow road.
March on Oz is a mix of the RTS and Tower Defense genres, the action of which takes place in the universe of the Wizard of Oz. The title is a debut production of the indie studio named City State Entertainment. The team’s chief – Mark Jacobs - was the founder of the Mythic Entertainment company, known for such legendary games as Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and Dark Age of Camelot.
The storyline of the project revolves around the invasion of Oz by a race of nomes, or in other words a race of highly aggressive creatures with appearances similar to robots. The players take control of a group of heroes, whose task is to stop the enemy army from marching down the famous yellow brick road. The title combines RTS and Tower Defense genres; during our playthrough we have to build defensive structures, as well as command our troops. Each of the available heroes has their own skill set and using the special abilities appropriately is the key to success.
The developers have prepared over 50 complex levels, each of them can be beaten on one of the two difficulty levels. The game is further embellished with various quaint mini-games, which test our skill, reflex and cunning. March On Oz features over 50 different character types, all of which can take part in a battle on one of the sides of the conflict.
