Mechanics

Before we start playing Mahokenshi we have to choose which of four samurai houses our character will represent: Sapphire, Topaz, Ruby or Jade. The choice we make is important because it determines the style of play.

Then there's nothing left for us but to start the gume, during which we observe the action from a top-down view. Wandering through the vast map covered with a grid of hexes, we discover new territories, meet their inhabitants who we help in solving their problems, make decisions affecting both the further course of the adventure and the fate of the whole land, and above all - eliminate the demons threatening the Celestial Isles.

Battles with enemies take place in turn-based mode. During them we play cards corresponding to attacks with cold and magic weapons, defensive maneuvers and rapid counterattacks, as well as setting traps for enemies. As we progress, we expand our deck (over 300 cards in total are waiting to be discovered here), which increases our combat potential and allows us to use new tricks in battle.

Technical aspects

Mahokenshi has colorful, detailed and high quality graphics. Both the detailed map of the game world and the eye-pleasing animations can be enjoyed.
