Release Date: 2025
Action, post-apocalypse, isometric view, elements of strategy, indie games, simulation elements, singleplayer
A combination of a post-apocalyptic action game, a strategy and a simulation. Machine Mind allows us to play as a character who had their personality transferred to a machine. Our objectives include gathering resources from devastated Earth, expanding the base, building rovers and fighting off the invaders.
Machine Mind is an action game with elements of strategies and simulations. It was developed by the independent studio Chudo-Yudo Games.
Story
Machine Mind takes us to a world devastated by a deadly virus and nuclear war. Those who managed to survive these cataclysms found refuge on the orbital station, while the surface of the Earth became home to mad invaders and a source of resources.
The main character of the game is engaged in delivering resources from the surface of the Earth to the orbit. During one of the routine missions, his ship is involved in a disaster, as a result of which his entire crew dies - including him. As part of an experimental program, the protagonist's personality is preserved in a special module that allows him to take control of the titular machines.
From now on, his goal becomes to return to the orbital station and uncover the mystery behind all the turmoil.
Gameplay
In Machine Mind we watch the action from a bird's eye view. We control a vehicle in the game, which is the only way for the hero to interact with the world. The game area includes locations like wastelands and abandoned industrial complexes.
Resources, production and automation
We gather and transport resources during the game. They are used to upgrade the machine, as well as to create weapons and various modules. Additionally, we use resources to build a base that serves as our command center.
After collecting the appropriate amount of materials, we can construct rovers, which over time increasingly relieve us of our duties, automating subsequent processes. These recent efforts involve not only working on the development of the entire infrastructure, but also its defense.
Opponents and other threats
The surface of the Earth is teeming with hostiles, with whom we can fight directly or with the help of defensive structures. Apart from regular units, we stand up against powerful bosses. Moreover, violent weather phenomena, such as sandstorms, pose a danger. We also have to watch out for radiation.
Graphics
The graphic design of Machine Mind was made using cel-shading technique.
