MachiaVillain Description
MachiaVillain is a PC economic strategy game filled with dark humor. In the game, one has to build a mansion for villains and monsters taken straight from horror movies. MachiaVillain has been developed by Wild Factor, also known for acclaimed Freaking Meatbags.
Plot
The story takes place in a small town, inhabited mostly by various villains. A player assumes the role of the newest member of this community, who has recently purchased a house in the area. Player’s new property is not exactly what the real estate catalogs promised it to be – since the house is much smaller and shabbier than expected, one has no other choice but to roll up the sleeves and get to work on remodeling this abode into a real mansion of monstrosity.
Mechanics
MachiaVillain for PC is a real-time economic strategy. During the game, one has to build new rooms and upgrade the already existing ones to provide various skanks with a place to stay. In total, the game features over 30 types of creatures, including zombies, vampires, werewolves, huge mutated plants, and psychopathic murderers.
The vicious tenants gather resources and carry out construction works, however, their most important task is to lure innocent victims into the mansion to feed on their bodies and acquire resources necessary for crafting new items. This aspect of the game is also inspired by classic horror schemes, thus one gets to hunt for high school football players, cheerleaders, nerds, movie stars, and mean bankers. These characters behave in accordance with various AI modules, which diversify their reactions to our actions. Some of them decide to run for it, others get paralyzed with fear, and there are also those trying to fight for their lives.
Interestingly enough, while murdering the innocent victims, one has to obey the unwritten rules of the so-called B movies – the murders can occur only at night, and only when the victim is alone or having sex. Virgins are the last ones to die, and it is strictly forbidden to kill any dogs.
Unlike most economic strategies, MachiaVillain puts a strong emphasis on combat – apart from the innocent victims, our mansion can also be visited supernatural monster hunters, police operatives, and even SWAT units. One also has to fight off powerful monster onslaughts, who want to take control over the mansion and steal our status. Player gets the option to catch and co-opt these hostile monsters. To better control the situation during combat, players can use the active pause system.
