Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is a survival horror story developed by the independent Lazarus Studio team. The publishing of this production was handled by Iceberg Interactive, whose portfolio includes titles such as the Starpoint Gemini series or Conarium and Darkness Within, which both maintain a similar atmosphere.

Story

In Lunacy: Saint Rhodes we play the role of a man whose family was brutally murdered years ago. The protagonist returns home not only to solve the mystery behind this event, but also to discover the dark secrets of his ancestors. On the spot, he learns that supernatural, unclean forces haunt both his home and the gloomy streets of the titular town of Saint Rhodes.

Mechanics

In Lunacy: Saint Rhodes we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). As we travel through various dark locations, we begin to uncover more fragments of the mysterious puzzle. At the same time, we must avoid confronting the hero with nightmarish creatures that pose a deadly danger to him.

What distinguishes this title from other representatives of the genre is the so-called Author, i.e. an advanced artificial intelligence that watches over the course of our struggle, and adapts to our actions so that we never feel safe. In combination with providing a non-linear storyline, this enhances the replayability of the production.

Technical issues

Lunacy: Saint Rhodes has three-dimensional graphics that are of high quality, and have been maintained in a gloomy style enhanced by the scarce lighting of the locations we visit. The dark atmosphere is complemented by an atmospheric soundtrack.
