LUNA The Shadow Dust is a representative of the point'n'click adventure game genre. The game was created by independent studio Lantern, founded by four talented developers in 2015. LUNA The Shadow Dust is their first title. The game was founded on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.

Plot

The game presents a magical, surreal story without the use of words. The main characters are a little boy and his inseparable mysterious companion, who travel around the world, in which order must be restored. During our adventure we visit an ancient tower with many dark secrets and try to recover the memories of the past.

The plot is told by hand-illustrated graphics, the movement of which gives the impression of watching a well-made animated film.

Mechanics

LUNA The Shadow Dust reminds other classic point'n'click adventure games. We interact with objects, often in a certain order, to move the action forward. In the game we control both the boy and his companion: they must work together to solve the puzzles. It is worth noting that the puzzles have been designed to avoid tedious searching for required items or backtracking.

Technical aspects

The game's two-dimensional visuals are characterized by original drawing style. The unique style is created not only by the illustrations themselves, but above all by their hand-made animation. In total, the creators managed to prepare over 250 animations, which consist of 20 minutes of movie cut-scenes, which replace traditional dialogues. The game is accompanied by atmospheric, sometimes even disturbing music, which harmonizes well with the mysterious, surrealistic atmosphere of the game.
