A first-person survival extraction game from People Can Fly (Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Outriders). In Lost Rift we end up in the Archipelago featuring different arenas. The game offers both PvE gameplay (with camp construction mechanics), as well as an extraction PvPvE mode.
Lost Rift is a production on the border of survival and extraction games. It was developed by the Polish studio People Can Fly, which has in its portfolio such projects as Painkiller (2004), Bulletstorm and Outriders.
Gameplay
In Lost Rift we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game takes us to the Archipelago, where we will find our own island designated for PvE gameplay, as well as pieces of land serving as arenas for PvPvE battles.
Survival, crafting and camp building
The gameplay focuses primarily on gathering food and resources, building a camp, and also on crafting useful equipment. The object construction system is based on tiles, which allows us to largely adapt individual buildings to individual needs and preferences.
Our efforts are hindered by the local fauna, which we eliminate using hand-made melee weapons and ranged weapons (from axes to bows and crossbows), or firearms.
PvPvE battles
When we feel strong enough, we can try to organize an expedition to one of the "unstable" zones serving as arenas for PvPvE gameplay. Venturing into these territories in search of valuable loot, we must be exceptionally vigilant, as the threat to us is posed not only by AI-controlled opponents, but also by other players arriving here for the same purpose. We can try to find allies with whom we can mutually support each other on the battlefield.
Dangerous weather
The game offers changing weather conditions, which can also give us a hard time. Hurricanes threaten our camp, intense downpours cause the water level in the rivers to rise, and lightning strikes can cause fires.
Coop and other game modes
We can play Lost Rift alone or in multiplayer mode over the Internet, cooperating or competing with other players.
