Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery

Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery is the second installment of a series of HOPA games launched in 2016. It was developed by the Polish studio World-Loom and published by Artifex Mundi, a company specializing in this genre.

Plot

Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery takes us on a journey to the fairytale universe created for the first part of the series. In the course of the game we play as an alchemist, who is also a royal protector and teacher. When Prince Fern disappears in the company of a mysterious girl, the protagonist has no choice but to set off in pursuit of him. Starting her journey, our protegee does not know that she will have to face the sinister Drosera, and on the success of her mission depends not only the fate of the royal descendant, but also the future of the entire kingdom.

Game mechanics

Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery does not differ from what the previous game under this banner offered us. The adventure takes us through 31 locations, where we solve various logic puzzles and search for hidden objects. There is also no shortage of opportunities to use the extensive alchemy system. As we progress, we meet a variety of characters, gain more scraps of information about the fate of the prince, and learn more and more about the conspiracy of which the young heir to the throne is a victim.

Technical aspects

Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery features 2D, hand-drawn graphics of high quality, which are enhanced by animated cutscreens.
