According to each and every kind of regulations of the genre to which Lords of Football belongs to, the game lets you take on a role of a manager in charge of a given football team. By making strategic decisions, choosing tactics for the next game, and carrying out transfers, you have a big impact on how your team performs throughout consecutive seasons. Moreover, you can keep track of the players’ actions off the pitch and see to it that their football-star lifestyle did not affect their career negatively.
In Lords of Football your primary task is planning a day, supervising training sessions, and managing the individual features of players so that each of them used his full potential. You can make use of a gym, a fitness center, a treadmill, and two training pitches. By observing the actions of the members of your team you can take an individual approach to training of each one of them. Besides, you have to chose appropriate strategies, contact media, as well as see to it that the fans and the club board are happy.
A unique feature of Lords of Football is being able to manage players personal life. A good manager should make players happy by finding them an appropriate activity for their leisure time. But be careful, since hanging out in nightclubs or casinos too often may adversely affect a players career, and hence - the results of the entire team. If a player loses interest in the game itself and starts to focus on the fun factor of being a football star, your task is to bring him to order through the appropriate use of carrot and stick method.
During a match you can give commands to individual players. This results in having much more control over what happens on the pitch, and also makes you feel like a real coach standing behind the sideline.
The developers also took a good care of proper visuals. Although it is not the most important feature in this type of games, the authors made it possible for players to watch everything that players do from any point of view. You can enter a gym and see how the players work out, then go to a club to see them relaxing after a hard day. Of course, all this is represented in fully 3D environment. The interface is clear and easy to use.
