Mechanics

In Loddlenaut we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The production puts at our disposal an open underwater world, which we can freely roam. At the bottom of the ocean we find not only trash left by the GUPPI corporation, oil spills and other pollution, but also remnants of the old infrastructure, such as the ruins of buildings, shipwrecks and decaying machinery. At the protagonist's disposal is a jet pack, which improves movement around the game world, and a gun that allows him to dispose of trash. By recycling the materials we obtain, we gain resources, which are used to unlock upgrades for our tools, as well as to build a base camp, where we can rest after the hardships of long journeys.

On the planet GUP-14, however, we are not alone. For it is inhabited by so-called "loddles," creatures resembling axolotls. The game allows us to breed these curious and friendly creatures, and depending on what fruit we feed them, they grow in different ways, gaining unique characteristics and abilities.

Technical aspects

The pixel art stylized graphics of the Loddlenaut game is very colorful and clear. Despite its simplicity, the developers managed to present the underwater world in a convincing way. The game is played to the accompaniment of a calm, relaxing soundtrack.
