Little Gamers is one of the first games prepared with the use of XNA Game Studio 2.0, which was decided to add to the Xbox LIVE Marketplace offer. It is a two-dimensional platformer, based on characters known from the popular online comic book of the same title.
This witty game tells the story of the adventures of Mr. Madsen, over whom he has direct control. The main Little Gamers (Story Mode) mode forces the player to overcome sixteen levels in order to exterminate the enemies appearing on the screen. Each stage is characterized by a different theme, as a result of which zombies, hippies, pirates and ninja warriors are eliminated. Other fun modes are based on the need to keep Madsen alive in Survival Mode and allowing you to get to know the basics of Training Mode.
One of the main elements distinguishing Little Gamers from other two-dimensional shooters is a set of about thirty items that can be used in the form of weapons. Any object left by an opponent or boss can be lifted and then used. The list of available extermination tools includes chainsaws, rocket launchers, baseball poles, shotguns, scythes, machine guns and macczugi. In the game there was also a lot of funny power-ups. A mug of beer allows you to turn on the slowdown mode, and drinking coffee brings Madsen into fury.
The graphics are very simple, although a lot of different places have been taken care of. These include dark cemeteries or dormitories inhabited by hippies. The game has an exceptionally bloody course. The appearance of characters and monsters appearing on the screen was maintained in the style typical of the Little Gamers comic books.
