Lineage W is the next instalment of the famous MMORPG series and a kind of summary of its quarter-century-long history. The game focuses on everything the series is famous for, including huge battles.
Lineage W is the next instalment of the popular MMORPG series developed by NCSoft company. The game was created as a kind of magnum opus of the series and a summary of almost 25 years of its history.
Plot
In Lineage W we go back to the fantasy world known from the previous instalments, but 150 years after the events from the first part. During this time the universe has changed a bit: the game is closer to dark fantasy than to epic heroism, which the series accustomed us to.
Mechanics
Unlike Lineage II, Lineage W uses the isometric view known from the first part of the series. We can choose from four classes: elf, mage, prince and knight. After creating the hero we find ourselves in a vast world full of quests, mobs and powerful bosses. The bosses can be really huge, bringing to mind the biggest giants from the God of War series. Also, PvP clashes can turn into huge battles: we find here sieges with hundreds of players, for which the Lineage brand became famous. The game also offers a revamped alliance and clan system. All this in a dark fantasy setting full of interesting stories and characters.
Technical aspects
NCSoft has abandoned both the 2.5D visuals and the view from behind the hero's back typical for MMORPGs. Lineage W has been developed using Unreal Engine technology, which not only resulted in high-quality 3D graphics, but also allowed the developers to increase the scale of the game.
The creators have also provided a lot of options to enable the game to be played by as many people as possible. This includes the automatic translation of the game in real time and the processing of player chats into text messages.

Lineage W to be Series' Magnum Opus; Release This Year
Magnum opus and playground for players from all over the world - this is what the freshly-revealed Lineage W is supposed to be for the well-known MMORPG series. The game will be released later this year on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
